Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Physics Quest app for iPhone and iPad (“the app”) and this website handle information. It is written for parents, guardians and teachers.

The short version

Physics Quest collects no personal information. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no in-app purchases, and it never connects to the internet. Game progress is saved only on the device and never leaves it.

1. Who we are

Physics Quest is developed by Gript Technologies LLC (“we”, “us”). For any question about this policy, email support@gript.io.

2. What the app collects

Nothing. The app does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information or usage data. In particular, it does not:

3. What stays on the device

To remember a child's progress, the app saves a small amount of game information in the device's local app storage. This information is never sent to us or to anyone else, and the app does not sync it to iCloud. Like all app data, it may be included in the device's own iCloud or computer backups if you have backups turned on.

Badges earnedShow the badge collection
Sound and vibration on/offRemember the grown-up's settings

None of this information identifies a person.

4. Third parties

The app contains no third-party software development kits (SDKs) and shares no information with any third party, because it collects none. The only outside party involved is Apple, which distributes the app (see section 6).

5. Children

Physics Quest is designed for children aged 8 to 12. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, or from anyone else. This is consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including its rules for children's data, and Apple's App Store guidelines for apps in the Kids category.

Settings and the option to erase progress are kept in a Grown-ups area protected by a parental gate: a multiplication question written out in words, which young children are unlikely to answer. The app contains no links to websites, no purchases and no requests for permissions.

6. Apple and the App Store

The app is downloaded through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the information it needs to provide the App Store, such as your Apple Account and purchase history, under Apple's own privacy policy. We do not receive that information.

If, in the device's settings, you have chosen to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us aggregated, anonymous statistics such as crash reports and the number of installs. These do not identify you or your child, and we use them only to fix problems and improve the app. You can change this choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

7. This website

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and loads no fonts, scripts or images from other companies. The service that hosts these pages may record standard technical information, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, in its server logs in order to deliver and protect the website. We do not use those logs to identify anyone.

8. If you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you and delete the correspondence once your question is resolved, unless we have to keep it for legal reasons. We never add you to a mailing list. Please do not include personal information about your child in emails.

9. Your rights

Because the app collects no personal data, we hold none about you or your child, apart from emails you choose to send us. You have the right to ask us what information we hold, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Under California law and the privacy laws of other U.S. states: we do not sell or share personal information, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not profile anyone, because the app collects no personal information in the first place.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top before the new version of the app is released. If a future version were ever to collect personal information from children, we would first obtain verifiable parental consent as the law requires.
